Score 4 Reading

The following is a sample from the 6th grade level Independent Reading & Writing Booklet. Each story matches an intervention story that is now in a paragraph format as opposed to being in separated parts.

A reader is expected to practice the story from the booklet until he or she can score a 4 on the entire story. There is also a short, simple writing assignment that will help solidify comprehension and allow for critical thinking as well. When the story is read to a listener who agrees a score of 4 has been reached, and the writing peice has also been read aloud, the listener fills in the box at the bottom of the page and the story is returned to the teacher.
